About jessie

Pronouns: she/her or they/them
Identities: Queer and Genderqueer/Non-binary

Hello! I’m Jessie. I have a Masters of Social Work and will soon be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have four years of experience providing individual and group therapy. I specialize in healthy communication, emotional regulation, sexuality, relationships, and LGBTQIA+ affirmative care. I lean toward narrative and somatic practices. I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy and am trained in EMDR.

I work with my clients to help them find the right tools for navigating a complex and challenging world. This includes work on communication practices, strategies for navigating conflict, and techniques for processing difficult thoughts and emotions. Everyone’s journey and toolkit is different, and I look forward to helping you develop your own.

I approach therapy from both a systems perspective and a person-in-environment perspective. This means that my work with clients is not only about their individual brains, but also about their relation to a variety of contexts and systems: family, work, school, community, and culture, to name a few. Relationships with other people and systems can be both the origins of our struggles and the venues in which healing and growth happen.

I believe wholeheartedly in the inherent worth and dignity of all people, and I meet each of my clients with unconditional positive regard. I know how vulnerable it is to open up about personal struggles and challenges. I believe vulnerability takes courage, and I promise to always meet your courage with openness, kindness, and acceptance. And maybe a little humor!

I like books, cats, video games, and ecovillages.
