About Devin
Thank you for taking a moment to check out my profile.
I approach therapy as a creative process, a collaborative artwork engaging the imagination to envision fresh perspectives and better futures. I hope to stand beside my clients moving through the tragic-comic experience of life. I understand the individual as a part of network systems, family, culture, economics and more. I acknowledge that many challenges we face aren’t due to personal failing or weakness but are embedded in our world and we can’t expect to self-help and self-care our way out of suffering. What I can offer is a different kind of conversation – rooted in curiosity, humor and compassion - that can provide opportunities to see things differently and move forward in new ways.
I am a husband and father of three. I began my counseling career later in life and have given myself time to marinate in life’s uncertainties. I grew up in Denver and have been engaged in various arts since childhood. I eventually earned a degree in Visual Studies from the New School in New York while I worked in bookstores. When I returned to Colorado after starting a family, I made the connection between creativity and counseling and began working towards an MA at Regis University. I concluded my degree as a bereavement counselor at The Denver Hospice. I’m inspired by Depth and Archetypal Psychology along with Narrative Therapy, utilizing story, image and imagination in my practice.
I enjoy spending time with my family, travel, biking, coffee shops, thrift stores, museums and historic places. I collect books and ghost stories.
